2026 Toyota Hilux
The next-generation 2026 Toyota Hilux is gearing up for its global debut on Monday, November 10, 2025. Ahead of the official reveal, Toyota has released new teaser images offering a closer look at the pickup’s updated design elements.
Shared on Toyota Motor Thailand’s social media channels, the teasers confirm that the upcoming Hilux will feature a completely new design.
The lifestyle pickup now sports slimmer headlights, C-shaped LED taillights, and a fresh set of alloy wheels. A bold, retro-inspired ‘TOYOTA’ badge sits prominently at the center of the grille, adding a nostalgic touch to the modern styling.
Previous spy shots have already hinted at the 2026 Hilux’s extensive redesign. While the door and roof panels appear to be carried over from the outgoing model, the new version will retain its sturdy ladder-frame chassis. The spy images also reveal completely reworked front and rear sections, signaling a major styling overhaul.

It was previously speculated that the next-gen Hilux would adopt Toyota’s TNGA-F platform, the same architecture that underpins the Tacoma pickup sold in the U.S. Reports further suggest that the upcoming Toyota Fortuner will also switch to the TNGA-F platform, which serves as the foundation for the Land Cruiser Prado and Land Cruiser 300 Series.
Inside, the 2026 Hilux will see a major upgrade with a redesigned dashboard layout featuring a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The new unit supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, enhancing both convenience and connectivity.
Under the hood, the new Hilux is expected to continue with the familiar 2.8-liter, 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, available with or without a 48V mild-hybrid system. This powertrain delivers 201 bhp and 500 Nm of torque, while the top-spec GR Sport variant boosts output to 221 bhp and 550 Nm.
Toyota is reportedly discontinuing the smaller 2.4-liter turbo-diesel and 2.7-liter naturally aspirated petrol engines for the new model. However, several reports indicate that an all-electric powertrain may join the lineup at a later stage, signaling Toyota’s move toward electrification in its popular pickup range.
