Toyota has unveiled an enhanced version of the GR Corolla for the Japanese market, incorporating motorsports-derived refinements to elevate its performance and driving dynamics. Customer orders opened on February 4, with the official launch set for March 3.
Drawing from expertise gained in the Super Taikyu racing series, Toyota has made key upgrades to the GR Corolla, optimizing high-speed cornering, acceleration, and cooling. One of the most significant advancements is the introduction of the newly developed 8-speed GAZOO Racing Direct Automatic Transmission (GR-DAT), previously debuted in the GR Yaris.

Toyota’s improvements are the result of extensive feedback from professional race drivers, evaluation specialists, and its Master Driver, Morizo. These refinements are intended to provide an exhilarating driving experience both on the track and in everyday use.
For those seeking an even more dynamic feel, an optional SPORT package adds premium, motorsport-inspired details to the interior. This package includes exclusive semi-bucket seats, an Ultrasuede-wrapped steering wheel, shift knob, and parking brake grip, as well as red three-point seat belts and cast-black interior trim accents.

A standout feature of the evolved GR Corolla is the newly introduced Circuit Mode, which can be activated at select Japanese racetracks via GPS and a dedicated app. This mode enhances performance by engaging anti-lag settings, increasing the speed limiter, optimizing engine cooling, and providing intuitive shift indicators to aid in high-performance gear changes.
Additionally, current GR Corolla owners can upgrade their vehicles with select performance-enhancing components from the latest model, ensuring they can experience the benefits of Toyota’s continuous advancements.
