2026 Jeep Compass
Jeep is on the verge of officially unveiling the next-generation Compass for the European market. However, a series of leaked images has provided an early look at the revamped SUV.
The upcoming Compass features a more squared-off, robust exterior design compared to its predecessor and will be built on a new Stellantis platform. This new foundation supports a broad selection of powertrains, including hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric variants.
The leaked images, reportedly originating from Brazilian automotive outlet Quatro Rodas, display the new Compass in several versions. A striking lime green model appears to be the fully electric variant, identified by an “e” badge on the tailgate. In contrast, a white version equipped with black exterior accents and a prominent front skid plate is likely the rugged Trailhawk trim.
Interior Design
Inside the cabin, the redesigned Compass reveals a modern, upscale layout. A large infotainment screen sits atop the center stack, flanked by a row of physical controls and a rotary selector beneath it.
The dashboard and center console are accented with metallic trim and appear to offer numerous storage areas. The interior showcased in the photos seems to be a high-end configuration, complete with features such as a dual-pane sunroof, head-up display, and leather seating with contrasting stitching.

Exterior Styling
On the outside, the new Compass adopts a more muscular and sculpted look, drawing design inspiration from the smaller Jeep Avenger, a model not available in North America.
The SUV features sharply defined fender flares, contemporary LED lighting, and sleek air intakes integrated into the front bumper. Its rugged profile is further emphasized by squared-off wheel arches and extensive plastic cladding. Shortened front and rear overhangs give the new Compass a sportier, more agile appearance compared to the outgoing model.
Platform and Powertrain Options
A major highlight of the upcoming Compass is its use of the STLA Medium platform, which also underpins other Stellantis SUVs such as the Peugeot 3008 and 5008, Opel Grandland, and Citroën C5 Aircross. While the shared architecture provides a versatile base, Jeep is expected to distinguish the Compass with enhanced off-road capabilities in certain trims, particularly the Trailhawk variant.

Jeep has confirmed that the new Compass will offer a significantly broadened engine lineup, including e-Hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and all-electric configurations. While traditional internal combustion engines may no longer be offered in Europe, they could still be available in other markets.
All-Electric Variant and Performance
As Jeep’s first fully electric Compass, the EV variant is anticipated to deliver serious performance. Drawing from the capabilities of the Peugeot e-3008, the electric Compass could be equipped with dual motors producing up to 321 horsepower (239 kW / 325 PS).
Battery options are expected to include 73 kWh and 97 kWh packs, which should provide competitive driving ranges. It is also likely that at least some powertrain options will include all-wheel drive to uphold Jeep’s off-road heritage.
Production Timeline and Market Launch
Stellantis has announced that production of the new Compass will commence in Italy in late 2025. Initially, North American versions were slated for production in Canada beginning in 2026. However, reported delays due to U.S. tariffs on imported vehicles have caused the North American launch to be pushed back.
