2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Jeep is giving its top-selling SUV a subtle facelift along with a significant refresh under the hood.
The 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee, revealed by the company on Tuesday, Oct. 28, arrives with a slightly more modern, boxy design and a completely new turbocharged four-cylinder engine that Stellantis is calling the Hurricane 4.
“We are making so many changes to this brand, quickly,” Jeep CEO Bob Broderdorf said during the unveiling of the 2026 Grand Cherokee at a news media event, highlighting that this marks the third Jeep vehicle to be revived or redesigned in 2025.
The Grand Cherokee remains a key model for both the Jeep brand and its parent company, Stellantis.
For the 2026 model year, Jeep will offer the Grand Cherokee in several trim levels, available in both two- and three-row configurations, with the three-row setup reserved for the Grand Cherokee L—the longer wheelbase variant. The SUV will also be offered with three different powertrain options.
The entry-level Laredo and Laredo X trims will continue to use the 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine, while the higher trims will move toward fewer cylinders but greater power and fuel efficiency with the new Hurricane 4 engine.
Jeep has yet to announce pricing or the exact release date for the new Grand Cherokee.

The turbocharged Hurricane 4 engine produces 324 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, incorporating fuel-injection technology derived from Maserati’s F1 racing engines.
At the top of the engine’s cylinders sits a small, machined copper piece that is smaller in diameter than a penny and roughly as tall as a thimble.
The Grand Cherokee lineup has evolved into a distinct range within Jeep’s growing portfolio. Alongside the standard two-row model, the lineup includes a plug-in hybrid 4xe variant and the three-row Grand Cherokee L, each of which we review separately.
With nine trim levels available, buyers have a wide array of choices, ranging from the more modest Laredo to the fully equipped Summit Reserve, ensuring there’s an option to suit nearly every preference.
The nonhybrid two-row model is powered by a capable V-6 and offers multiple all-wheel-drive configurations, though rear-wheel drive is standard on the lower trims.
Despite its strong off-road capabilities, the Grand Cherokee remains comfortable on paved roads, and its roomy interior is up to date with modern features. Thanks to its diverse trims, the Grand Cherokee competes across a broad spectrum, from practical models like the Honda Passport to premium two-row offerings from BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
