Lucid (LCID) has confirmed that its highly anticipated Gravity SUV will deliver up to 450 miles of EPA-estimated driving range. Powered by Panasonic’s cutting-edge EV battery technology, Lucid describes the Gravity as “a groundbreaking new class of SUV.” Below are the key details about this innovative electric vehicle.
Panasonic’s Advanced Batteries to Power Lucid Gravity
The Gravity Grand Touring model will utilize Panasonic Energy’s advanced lithium-ion battery cells, which have been engineered to achieve an unprecedented balance of range, performance, and spaciousness.
These high-performance battery packs provide an impressive EPA-estimated range of up to 450 miles. Thanks to a design that is up to 40% smaller, the battery packs not only extend the vehicle’s driving range but also free up additional interior space. This reduction in size marks a significant advancement in resource efficiency, as fewer materials are needed to construct the packs.

A Spacious and Practical SUV
The Lucid Gravity boasts the practicality and interior capacity of a full-size SUV, offering up to 120 cubic feet of cargo space. For context, this far surpasses the 2025 Ford Explorer, which has a maximum of 85.5 cubic feet of cargo space.
Panasonic’s 2170 cylindrical lithium-ion battery cells, which feature an energy density exceeding 800 Wh/L, represent a major technological milestone for the industry. The Lucid Gravity will be among the first vehicles to deploy these batteries at scale, setting a new benchmark for electric SUVs.
A No-Compromise EV Experience
Lucid CEO Peter Rawlinson describes the Gravity as the first SUV that eliminates the need for customers to compromise on features or performance.
Lucid and Panasonic collaborated closely to design the battery cells, optimizing them for exceptional range, safety, performance, and durability. This partnership is part of an ongoing relationship that began in 2022 and includes several multi-year agreements. These collaborations are integral to Lucid’s strategy of establishing itself as a leader in the luxury EV market.
Record-Breaking Growth for Lucid
Lucid recently reported its fourth consecutive quarter of record deliveries. In 2024, the company delivered 10,241 vehicles, a 70% increase over the 6,001 units delivered in 2023.

Production and Pricing Details
Lucid began producing the Gravity Grand Touring models at its Arizona manufacturing facility in December 2024. The Grand Touring trim is priced starting at $94,900. Later in 2025, the company will commence production of the Gravity Touring trim, which starts at $79,900. Both trims will feature Panasonic’s latest EV battery technology.
Panasonic’s Expansion Plans
Currently, Panasonic manufactures its battery cells in Japan, but production is expected to shift to its new facility in Kansas in the near future, further supporting the production of vehicles like the Lucid Gravity.
With its groundbreaking design, advanced battery technology, and commitment to luxury, the Lucid Gravity represents a significant step forward in the evolution of electric vehicles.
