2026 Street Triple RX and Moto2 Edition
I was saddened to hear that Triumph will discontinue the Street Triple R, and at the same time, I wondered how the brand would fill the gap in its middleweight naked lineup.
Now, with the announcement that the Trident 800 will essentially replace the Street Triple R, and the introduction of the Street Triple 765 RX and Street Triple 765 Moto2 Edition, Triumph’s sporty middleweight offerings are clearly defined and complete.
The Street Triple RS has always been the track-ready Street Triple, and it doesn’t appear to have lost any of its capabilities. But for 2026, there are two additional options better suited for track work, starting with the Street Triple 765 RX.
Triumph revived the RX moniker earlier this year with the Speed Triple RX, and now it’s bringing it to the Street Triple, which last wore RX branding in 2016. Although this model pays homage to its predecessor, the RX in 2026 looks very different. The RX features several exclusive design elements, including a precision-machined upper yoke, a laser-etched RX logo on the exhaust, and a bespoke RX-branded seat.
Fans of the previous RX will recognize the Matte Aluminum Silver finish paired with a Diablo Red rear subframe and matching wheels, a nod to the original Street Triple 675 RX and its iconic legacy. But what buyers are really investing in is track capability, not just aesthetics.
Both the RX and Moto2 feature fully adjustable Öhlins NIX30 front suspension, which should make a noticeable difference on the track compared with the RS. This premium upgrade offers adjustable compression and rebound damping, preload adjustment, and 4.5-inch (115 mm) wheel travel.
The RX and Moto2 Edition also include clip-on handlebars, delivering a more aggressive, race-focused riding position that many Street Triple track enthusiasts have long requested.
A fully adjustable Öhlins STX40 piggyback rear shock, also found on the Street Triple RS, will be included on both the RX and Moto2 models. The Street Triple 765 RX will be available at dealers starting December 2025 with a base price of $14,495. For an additional $2,000, riders can opt for the Moto2 Edition that same month.
That’s why we are now applying the same ethos to the Street Triple family. The new Street Triple 765 RX delivers sharper geometry, premium components, and a specification that makes it equally at home on fast road rides and dedicated track sessions.”

The Street Triple 765 Moto2 Edition is priced at $16,495, and buyers will have to decide if it’s worth the extra investment. First and foremost, the additional cost secures exclusivity: only 1,000 units will be produced, and just 150 will make it to the USA.
Each bike is individually numbered on a billet-machined top yoke, which also features Moto2 branding alongside a TFT display with a Moto2-branded start-up screen.
The Moto2 Edition also includes a suite of premium components, primarily made of carbon fiber, including side panels, front mudguard, belly pan, and silencer end cap. The exhaust is adorned with a laser-etched Moto2 logo, while the distinctive paintwork ensures it won’t be mistaken for any other Street Triple.
Speaking about the Moto2 Edition, Sargent said, “The Moto2 Edition is a celebration of our ongoing partnership with Moto2, which has been instrumental in pushing the boundaries of our engine development. This bike gives fans and collectors a rare opportunity to own a slice of Moto2 action.”
The Moto2 Edition features a Mineral Grey and Crystal White color scheme, accented by a Triumph Performance Yellow rear subframe and matching rear wheel stripe, a detail that may be enough to justify the extra cost for some riders. However, it isn’t a significant upgrade from the previous iteration, which retailed for $15,395.
While I would have liked Triumph to incorporate more of its Moto2 Championship learnings, where its engines have covered 1,101,000 miles in race conditions, into the Moto2 Edition’s powerplant, it remains a striking motorcycle for the price.
For reference, the standard Triumph Street Triple 765 RS starts at $13,845.
