A year after revealing the streamlined Saloon concept, Honda has introduced two new prototypes at CES 2025, bringing the company closer to the production versions of its 0-series electric vehicles (EVs). The Honda 0 Saloon prototype closely resembles last year’s concept, while the 0 SUV prototype is an evolution of the 2024 Space Hub concept, now taking on a more modern crossover shape.

Sleek Designs
Honda has confirmed that production versions of both prototypes will be available in North America starting in 2026. The 0 SUV will be the first to debut, arriving on U.S. roads in the first half of 2026 and set to be manufactured at Honda’s EV Hub in Ohio. The 0 Saloon will follow in late 2026, with production also taking place at Honda’s Ohio facility.
The 0 SUV is bulkier than the Saloon but still features a raked windshield and a relatively low roofline. The front end showcases a black panel with pixelated headlights and an illuminated Honda logo, sitting above a robust bumper with a vent for cooling the battery. The two-tone effect is accentuated by a black roof, while the side windows rise at the rear door before abruptly cutting off, creating a distinctive D-pillar. The rear windshield is notably thin, with a U-shaped taillight wrapping around it.
In contrast, the 0 Saloon remains strikingly similar to the 2024 CES concept car, which many initially thought was too low and sleek to reach production in its original form. However, Honda seems committed to its futuristic design, as the prototype maintains the same low-slung, cab-forward wedge shape. The 0 Saloon now features larger headlights with retractable covers—reminiscent of pop-up headlights from earlier eras. The concept’s front-end screen has been replaced by a more production-friendly blank panel. Like the SUV, the Saloon’s side windows rise sharply behind the rear doors, creating a blocky D-pillar. The rear retains the repeating ovoid lighting signature. Both prototypes are equipped with cameras in place of side mirrors, although it is unlikely this feature will make it to production.

Interior and Features
The interiors of both vehicles are similar, with dashboards dominated by screens. Each prototype includes a digital gauge cluster, a central touchscreen, a dedicated display for the front passenger, and two additional screens showing views from the side cameras. The interiors feature almost no physical controls except for the stalks behind the yoke-style steering wheel. The seats in the SUV appear more production-ready, while the center console in the Saloon features an illuminated glass panel.
While Honda has shared few specifics about the technology under the sleek exteriors, the company has reiterated that the 0-series models will incorporate a steer-by-wire system. During a test drive of a 0-series prototype in Japan last fall, we learned that the vehicles are likely to offer both rear- and all-wheel-drive configurations and are expected to feature Honda’s latest electric motors, offering outputs of 241 horsepower and 67 horsepower. Honda also emphasized that the 0-series will be equipped with a thin lithium-ion battery, with an expected EPA range of around 300 miles.
