Electric vehicles and range anxiety were once inseparable, much like reckless drivers and Nissan’s Altima. Although a handful of automakers still offer EVs with EPA-estimated ranges barely exceeding 100 miles, the majority of today’s battery-powered vehicles are designed to surpass 200 miles on a single charge.
However, the EPA’s estimated range often doesn’t align with real-world conditions. That’s precisely why we created our 75-mph real-world highway range test. This test is designed to determine how far an EV can travel on a full charge while maintaining a steady speed of 75 mph—the kind of speed typically associated with long-distance highway driving.
Thinking about transitioning to an EV without sacrificing your love for road trips? If so, you’ll want to explore the battery-electric vehicles below, which performed impressively in our range test.
10. Peugeot E-5008: 414 Miles
The Peugeot E-5008 stands out as one of the few genuinely seven-seat electric SUVs currently available. Its impressive range of up to 414 miles is powered by a massive 97kWh battery. The vehicle also offers various power outputs and a premium interior featuring the signature i-Cockpit, a panoramic roof, and ample interior space—enough to rival its petrol-powered counterparts.

9. Porsche Taycan: 421 Miles
Porsche’s groundbreaking all-electric Taycan has been further refined for 2024. This mid-life update enhances power, range, and charging speeds, making the car even more appealing. With a new gross battery capacity of 105kWh—up from 93kWh—the rear-wheel-drive Taycan now achieves a remarkable 421 miles per charge, a 35% improvement. The upgraded 320kW charging capability also reduces the time for a 10-80% charge to just 18 minutes, down from 37 minutes in the earlier model.

8. Peugeot E-3008: 435 Miles
The evolution of the Peugeot 3008 into an all-electric SUV is remarkable. The latest E-3008 model offers an upgraded battery that delivers 435 miles of range. Additionally, a preconditioning system comes standard, making it a strong contender in the competitive EV market.

7. Volkswagen ID.7: 436 Miles
Volkswagen’s first fully electric saloon, the ID.7, builds on the strengths of its predecessors while addressing some shortcomings. Its range benefits from a sleek design, including a coupe-inspired profile that contributes to a low drag coefficient of just 0.23Cd. Buyers can choose between the ‘Pro’ variant, offering 381 miles with a 77kWh battery, or the ‘Pro S’ model, which achieves 436 miles using an 86kWh battery.

6. Tesla Model 3 Long Range: 436 Miles
Tesla’s Model 3 continues to dominate the EV market, especially after its late 2023 updates, which included exterior refinements, interior upgrades, and improved aerodynamics. The introduction of the long-range rear-wheel-drive variant in 2024 further elevates the Model 3, boasting an impressive 436 miles of range on a single charge.

5. Polestar 3 Long Range: 438 Miles
Polestar’s lineup continues to expand with the introduction of the Polestar 3, which is available in three configurations. All versions feature a robust 111kWh battery.
