Amid the dominance of massive screens, AI-powered voice assistants, and hands-free driving technology, a movement is emerging that champions purity in the realm of sports cars and supercars. One of the most captivating hypercars in recent memory, Gordon Murray’s T.50, embodies this philosophy with its minimalist design, naturally aspirated V-12, and six-speed manual transmission. While some manufacturers design vehicles from the ground up, others opt for extensive modifications of classic models—such as Touring Superleggera’s Ferrari 550-based Veloce12. Now, a new contender has entered the scene: the Ælla-60 from Art Machines, created by Anthony Jannarelly.

Art Machines by Anthony Jannarelly – Ælla-60
The name may be a bit of a mouthful, but the design is nothing short of stunning. Its flowing lines pay homage to the sports cars of the 1960s—a signature touch from designer Anthony Jannarelly. The French automotive visionary previously introduced the Jannarelly Design-1 in 2016, a retro-inspired sports car, and carried over similar design cues when leading Caterham’s 2023 Project V concept. Jannarelly is also renowned for shaping the W Motors Lykan Hypersport, the supercar that memorably leaped between skyscrapers in Fast & Furious 7.
Beneath the Ælla-60’s elegantly sculpted bodywork lies the foundation of a Ferrari 360 Modena. While Art Machines doesn’t explicitly confirm this, the reference to a “sports car from the 1990s” strongly hints at it. Additional clues include the mid-mounted, naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V-8 paired with a six-speed manual transmission.

Performance and Features
Art Machines claims the Ælla-60 produces 473 horsepower and weighs approximately 2,491 pounds dry. This lightweight construction allows it to sprint from 0 to 62 mph in an estimated 3.5 seconds. With its high-revving powerplant, manual gearbox, and featherweight design, the Ælla-60 promises an exhilarating driving experience. Despite its vintage aesthetic, the cabin doesn’t forgo modern conveniences, offering amenities such as air conditioning and smartphone connectivity.
Production is limited to just 60 units, with assembly entrusted to Podium Advanced Technologies, an Italian firm known for contributing to high-performance projects like the SCG 004S and the Lancia Delta Futurista restomod. Production is set to begin in 2026, but this purist driving experience comes at a premium—carrying a hefty price tag of $895,380.
