After a lengthy absence from the luxury performance scene, the Aston Martin Vanquish is making a bold comeback. The British marque reintroduced the coupe variant of the Vanquish in the latter half of 2024, and now, just a few months into 2025, Aston Martin has officially unveiled the 2026 Vanquish Volante — the convertible version of its iconic grand tourer.

A Twin-Turbo V12 Under the Hood
While many automakers pivot toward more efficient, downsized powertrains, Aston Martin is doubling down on performance. The Vanquish Volante arrives with a 5.2-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine that delivers a formidable 823 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque. This power enables the luxury convertible to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under 3.4 seconds.
Aston Martin claims the Vanquish Volante can hit a top speed of 214 mph. If confirmed, that would make it the fastest series-production convertible the brand has ever built. That immense power is routed through an eight-speed rear-mounted torque-converter transaxle, paired with an electronically controlled rear differential — a setup designed to provide improved control and responsiveness at high speeds.

Inside the Cabin
The Volante’s interior closely resembles that of its coupe counterpart, boasting a two-tone design and retaining physical controls for essential functions like drive mode selection and stability control. Dual 10.3-inch displays serve as the digital gauge cluster and infotainment screen, offering both functionality and sleek aesthetics.
The fabric convertible roof, dubbed the K-fold by Aston Martin, is as functional as it is stylish. It can open in as little as 14 seconds and close in 16, and it operates at speeds of up to 31 mph. Impressively, the roof can also be activated remotely via the key fob.
Engineering Without Compromise
According to Simon Newton, Aston Martin’s Director of Vehicle Performance and Attributes, both the coupe and convertible were engineered in tandem to ensure the Volante delivers the same dynamic performance as the Vanquish Coupe. “The drive to ensure Vanquish Volante delivered the same class leading performance as the Vanquish Coupe meant that, from inception, the engineering team worked on both Coupe and Volante simultaneously, allowing us to retain the dynamic capabilities and character of Vanquish Coupe with no compromise upon removing the roof,” Newton explained.

Though the coupe and convertible share the same underlying chassis, the Volante has been specially modified to accommodate the added weight of its open-top design. Newly developed Bilstein DTX dampers have been fitted to enhance wheel control across all drive modes.
Limited Production Numbers
Aston Martin is keeping production of the Vanquish exclusive. While the exact number of Volante units hasn’t been disclosed, the company plans to limit combined production of both coupe and convertible variants to fewer than 1,000 units per year. Deliveries are slated to begin in the third quarter of 2025.
Pricing and Availability
Although Aston Martin has yet to release official pricing for the Volante, order books are now open. The 2025 Vanquish Coupe starts at approximately $425,000, and the Volante is expected to carry a higher price tag. A starting price around $475,000 seems likely, with a fully optioned version potentially approaching the $500,000 mark. Given that this marks the return of the Vanquish after a six-year hiatus, such a premium is to be expected for Aston Martin’s flagship model.
