Kia has unveiled the EV2 Concept and officially introduced the new EV4 and PV5—both of which were first spotted last week—at the brand’s 2025 EV Day in Tarragona, Spain.
Kia EV2 Concept
The EV2 stands as Kia’s most compact electric vehicle yet. Set to hit European and other international markets in 2026, this model won’t be making its way to North America. While it may appear like a miniature SUV, the EV2 is, in reality, a small hatchback designed specifically for urban mobility.
Visually, the EV2 is anything but dull. In fact, some might even find it rugged. It features Kia’s signature Star Map lighting, while its rear-hinged back doors ensure easy entry into a stylish two-tone cabin offering generous legroom. Additionally, the rear seat can be folded up, allowing the front bench to slide further back—perfect for relaxation while charging or even for a makeshift picnic spot.
Diagonal LED lighting on the front door panels highlights the contrast between the front and rear sections of the cabin. Meanwhile, triangular-patterned lighting and unique LED dashboard animations contribute to a serene and engaging interior ambiance. A notable design element is the triangular metal surface along the lower dashboard, which integrates a wireless charger and a power outlet.
Kia has also incorporated message lighting, enabling occupants to project text messages through the windows to communicate with pedestrians or other road users. Adding to its innovative features, the triangular speakers in the door panels are detachable and portable.

Kia EV4
In a departure from the growing SUV and crossover trend, the all-new Kia EV4 is a fully electric vehicle available in two body styles: a four-door sedan comparable in size to the K4 and a five-door hatchback. The sedan boasts an aerodynamic design, achieving a drag coefficient of just 0.23. Built on the E-GMP platform—shared with the EV6, EV9, and upcoming EV3 and EV5—the EV4 offers two battery options: a 58.3kWh pack providing up to 430 km of range and an 81.4kWh pack delivering up to 630 km (590 km for the hatchback). These figures are based on the more optimistic WLTP standard used in Europe and South Korea.
Charging the larger battery from 10% to 80% takes approximately 31 minutes via the front-fender charging port. Additionally, the EV4 supports vehicle-to-load (V2L) technology, allowing it to power external devices or even charge another EV. A single front-mounted motor produces 201 horsepower, accelerating the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds with the larger battery. Notably, Kia has not announced an all-wheel-drive variant.
The EV4 features a specialized MacPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link rear setup with coil-over units. Its suspension dampers incorporate Kia’s latest third-generation ‘SFD3’ frequency-responsive valves, which help minimize road noise and vibrations while enhancing ride comfort.
Inside, a prominent 30-inch display dominates the cabin, offering various customization themes, including NBA and Disney content, along with a Vehicle Smart TV system featuring streaming services like YouTube, Netflix, and Disney+, as well as games and karaoke. Kia’s AI Assistant, powered by machine learning, continuously improves voice recognition, while over-the-air (OTA) updates allow remote software enhancements via smartphones.
Cargo space is another strong point, with the sedan’s trunk offering 490 litres of storage. For those seeking a sportier look, the GT-Line variant features wing-shaped front and rear bumpers, along with distinctive 19-inch wheels showcasing a triangular motif.
Production of the EV4 sedan will take place in South Korea, while the hatchback variant will be manufactured in Slovakia, primarily catering to European markets. North American and other international markets can expect deliveries to begin later this year, likely leading to an early-2026 launch.
Kia PV5
Measuring 4,695 mm in length and 1,895 mm in width, the newly introduced PV5 compact van is Kia’s first dedicated electric vehicle built on the Electric-Global Modular Platform for Service (E-GMP.S). At the heart of this development is the Integrated Modular Architecture (IMA), which standardizes key components such as batteries and motors.

The PV5 will be available in three configurations: Passenger, Cargo, and Chassis Cab. Additionally, Kia’s Flexible Body System enables various conversion models, including Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV), Family, Crew, Drop Side, Box Van, Freezer Box, Prime, and Light Camper variants.
The PV5 Passenger model features a three-row seating arrangement. The first two rows are designated for passengers, while the third row serves as a spacious cargo area, enhanced by a bottom luggage tray and side storage compartments for optimized utility. On the other hand, the PV5 Cargo variant comes in Standard, Long, and High-Roof specifications, with the latter also available in a Walk-Through version. Offering up to 5,100 litres of cargo space and a low step height of just 419 mm, the van ensures practicality and accessibility. Additionally, an optional L-track mounting system provides enhanced flexibility.
Sustainability plays a significant role in the PV5’s design, incorporating eco-friendly materials such as Thermoplastic Olefin (TPO), which offers a durable and easy-to-clean flooring alternative to traditional PVC. The dashboard houses a 7-inch instrument cluster alongside a 12.9-inch navigation screen powered by Android Automotive OS, enabling access to a range of Google and Samsung apps and services.
Regarding performance, the PV5 offers multiple battery options, including 51.5kWh and 71.2kWh NCM batteries, as well as a 43.3kWh LFP battery exclusive to the Cargo model. A front-mounted electric motor generates 161 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. With the larger battery, the PV5 Passenger version achieves a WLTP-estimated range of up to 400 km, while fast-charging from 10% to 80% takes just 30 minutes.
Sales of the Kia PV5 are set to commence in South Korea and Europe in the latter half of the year, with availability expanding to additional markets in 2026. Plans for a Canadian release remain unconfirmed.
