Li Auto has introduced enhanced promotional offers to mitigate potential short-term sales declines, as prospective buyers may delay purchases in anticipation of updated models set for release in May.
Today, the company announced special purchase incentives for its L-series extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs), available until March 31. These incentives include reductions on final payments and a 3-year, 0-interest financing option, which could allow customers to save up to RMB 38,000 ($5,210).
Li Auto’s L-series EREVs comprise the Li L6, Li L7, Li L8, and Li L9— all SUVs (sport utility vehicles), with the Li L9 positioned as the most premium offering. Additionally, the company offers a battery electric vehicle (BEV), the Li Mega MPV (multi-purpose vehicle).
Previously, on November 29, Li Auto had launched a 3-year, 0-interest financing program applicable to all models, with a deadline of December 31. In today’s revised promotional offer—now including final payment reductions—the Li Mega is not included.

Customers purchasing a Li L6 before March 31 can benefit from a RMB 10,000 discount on the final payment, in addition to the 3-year, 0-interest financing program, leading to a total savings of approximately RMB 25,000.
For the Li L7 and Li L8, the final payment reductions stand at RMB 12,000, bringing total potential savings to RMB 30,000 and RMB 32,000, respectively, when combined with the financing offer.
Meanwhile, the Li L9 buyers can enjoy a RMB 16,000 discount on the final payment, along with RMB 22,000 in interest savings.

Earlier today, Li Auto’s Vice President, Liu Jie, announced via Weibo that the company will introduce smart driving edition updates for its L-series models in May, emphasizing advancements in smart driving hardware.

According to Liu, the updated L-series models will feature upgraded smart driving chips, with all variants equipped with LiDAR technology. Currently, LiDAR is exclusive to the highest-tier Max variants.
At present, Li Auto provides limited-time purchase incentives on both the L-series and Li Mega, including 3-year, 0-interest financing and cash subsidies. However, these incentives will be reduced once the updated models launch in May, Liu added.
Li Auto and its domestic competitors are expected to release their February sales figures tomorrow. In January, the company delivered 29,927 vehicles—a 48.85% decrease from December’s 58,513 units and a 3.97% drop from the 31,165 vehicles delivered in January 2024.
A research note from Deutsche Bank, dated February 26, projected that Li Auto would deliver approximately 28,000 vehicles in February, marking a 38% year-over-year increase but a 6% month-over-month decline.
