SUVs continue to dominate the American automotive market, and it’s easy to see why. Today’s models are stylish, versatile, comfortable, and packed with the latest technology. The next few years promise even more exciting releases, with several new SUVs set to launch as early as next year.
Manufacturers such as BMW, Ford, and Hyundai have ambitious plans for their SUV lineups in 2025. The upcoming models span a wide range, from luxury three-row SUVs and compact EVs to high-performance variants and rugged off-roaders. The diversity of new SUVs arriving next year ensures that buyers will have plenty of choices.
1. BMW Neue Klasse SUV
Estimated Price: $70,000
BMW is set to expand its EV portfolio next year, beginning with an electric 3 Series and followed by an SUV inspired by the Vision Neue Klasse X concept revealed earlier this year. This upcoming SUV will be similar in size to the X5 and will be built on BMW’s advanced CLAR platform, which also underpins the i5 and i7 electric sedans.
While a fully electric version is expected, BMW may also offer combustion and hybrid variants, potentially featuring turbocharged four- and six-cylinder engines. This highly anticipated model is slated for a late 2025 debut.

2. Cadillac Optiq
Starting Price: $54,390
Cadillac’s upcoming Optiq will be its most affordable electric vehicle, priced at $54,390. This five-passenger crossover will be similar in size to the Chevrolet Equinox EV and will feature an 85.0-kilowatt-hour battery pack with 150-kilowatt DC fast-charging capability.
While its 300-horsepower output isn’t groundbreaking, the Optiq will stand out with a premium interior, a 33.0-inch integrated digital screen, and standard Super Cruise technology. Expect it to hit the market in early 2025.

3. Ford Expedition
Estimated Price: $58,000
With the redesigned Lincoln Navigator already available, the refreshed Ford Expedition isn’t far behind. Spy shots of camouflaged prototypes have revealed a sculpted design with a sleek front end reminiscent of the latest F-150. Inside, the cabin will receive a tech upgrade, though it will have a distinct layout compared to the Navigator’s expansive 48.0-inch single screen.
Under the hood, the familiar 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 is expected to carry over, possibly with increased power. Additionally, a new Tremor trim may replace the Timberline as the go-to rugged variant.

4. Genesis GV90
Estimated Price: $100,000
After years of speculation, Genesis is finally bringing its ultra-luxury flagship SUV to production. First previewed as the Neolun concept at the 2024 New York Auto Show, the GV90 will share design elements with the Genesis family and proportions similar to the Kia EV9.
The GV90 will be an electric-only model built on Hyundai’s new eM platform. Buyers will have a choice between two-row and three-row configurations, and the vehicle may retain the concept’s pillar-less design with front- and rear-opening doors. Prototypes are expected to surface later this year, with an official launch in 2025.

5. Hyundai Palisade
Estimated Price: $38,000
Hyundai is preparing to unveil its next-generation Palisade alongside the GV90, and this redesign is expected to be a major departure from the current model. The new Palisade will feature a bold, upright stance with a sleek, squared-off front end, complemented by a striking LED lighting design that includes a horizontal bar across the grille.
Inside, the SUV will boast an upscale cabin with a digital display and physical controls. Powertrain options will likely include a 2.5-liter hybrid four-cylinder and a turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6. Expect its arrival in early 2025.

6. Jeep Recon
Estimated Price: $60,000
Taking clear inspiration from the Wrangler, the all-electric Jeep Recon aims to appeal to off-road enthusiasts while encouraging the transition to EVs. This model will be built on the STLA Large platform, the same foundation for the upcoming Wagoneer S.
The Recon will retain Jeep’s signature rugged appeal, featuring removable doors and potentially large roof openings. It is expected to offer electric, combustion, and hybrid powertrains, with a production model debuting next year.

7. Mercedes-Benz ‘Little G’ EV
Estimated Price: $65,000
Mercedes-Benz is expanding its G-Class lineup with a smaller, more affordable model. Dubbed the “Little G,” this upcoming SUV will be an all-electric counterpart to the larger G-Class, maintaining its signature boxy silhouette in a more compact package.
Built on the Mercedes Modular Architecture, the Little G will support both combustion and electric powertrains, featuring 800-volt charging capability and an estimated range of over 300 miles. Despite its lower price point, the model will still come with standard all-wheel drive and advanced off-road features.

8. Nissan Leaf
Estimated Price: $40,000
Nissan is transforming the Leaf from a traditional hatchback into a crossover for the 2026 model year. The new design will reportedly draw inspiration from the 2021 Nissan Chill-Out concept, giving the Leaf a fresh, modern appearance.
Built on the CMF-EV platform, the next-generation Leaf will share its underpinnings with the Nissan Ariya. Although specific powertrain details remain undisclosed, the Ariya’s single- and dual-motor configurations range from 214 to 389 horsepower, hinting at similar possibilities for the Leaf.

9. Rivian R1X
Estimated Price: $100,000
Rivian first trademarked the R1X name three years ago, but it wasn’t until the debut of the R3X that the significance of the name became clearer. If the R1X follows the same formula, it will be a more rugged, high-performance version of Rivian’s existing SUV and truck lineup.
The off-road-focused R1X is expected to be available in both truck and SUV variants, featuring revised bumpers for improved terrain capability, reinforced rocker panels, signature orange accents, and possibly a quad-motor setup for exceptional wheel control. More details should emerge next year.

10. Scout Electric SUV & Truck
Estimated Price: $45,000
The historic Scout brand is making a comeback. Next year will mark the launch of its first new SUV and pickup truck, though details remain scarce. Teaser images suggest a boxy design with upright front ends and short overhangs.
Volkswagen, which is reviving the brand, has pledged that the new Scout models will be highly capable and competitively priced. Concept versions are expected later this year, with production models likely arriving in 2025.
